Child protection and welfare

Every child has the right to survive, grow, develop, and participate. In order to exercise those rights, Children at risk should receive supportive cases I safe, family-like and community based environment free from violence, abuse and exploitations. The Education

Every child has a right to quality basic education. This responsibility is shared between different duty bearers [parents, guardians, government, teachers and institution] it is the responsibility of the state to provide the facilities, parents to send and keep children to school and teachers to impart knowledge and skills. The education program is premised on supporting the provision and improvement of basic education for all children in Kenya. The program endeavours to guarantee equity of access to basic education, while enhancing quality and learning achievements. RAPADO supports communities to build schools while advocating to the government to fulfil her duty to provide services for quality education. The program also advances opportunity for further education training and strengthens education sector management.

Human Rights and Governance

RAPADO advocates for the entrenchment of human rights, good governance and democratic culture in Kenya. The theory of change behind this program is grounded on a right based approach that seeks to empower citizen to engage and participate effectively in both political and development processes. Using this approach, RAPADO supports development of democratic institutions and sustainable mechanism for human rights protection by addressing public policy issues and facilitating civic participation in policy processes. Key engagements include; research, capacity building and information sharing along three continuums; civil society [capacity building of communities on social accountability], state [expansion of democratic space, security, electoral process] and economy [economic policies and budget tracking]
